Weeks 12, 13, 14 & 15: Playing catch up!

December 10, 2017

I have just realized that I am 5 weeks behind on this. Five. Time really flies and I’ll be honest I have probably forgotten a lot of what’s happened so I’m just going to do a super quick post about what I got up to after my sister left!

First of all Halloween! (Yes I am that far behind). So you may have seen that I went on a Halloween Bar Crawl during the weekend before Halloween but on the actual day I went to a huge parade in the West Village. The event was slightly marred by an attack in Downtown Manhattan which thankfully no one on my programme was involved in, but it was amazing to see so many people brave the streets to see the parade. It was really really cold, but the amazing costumes and performers made it worth it. I even knew two people walking in the parade so it was cool to see them carrying around their huge puppets. I would definitely recommend going to see it if you’re in NYC for Halloween as you will honestly never see so many people in costume in your life.
At the weekend I had another visitor from home, my godfather James, and we went to an AMAZING PIZZA PLACE called L&B Spumoni’s in Brooklyn. Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, it’s such a nice spot to hang out with delicious Sicilian style pizza (although I was attacked by a wasp so beware).

The following week was pretty standard, working, class, gym, sorting out my life etc. Sometimes it’s nice to have a chilled week to have time to catch up on life admin/TV shows! On the weekend though I went to an amazing workout class with a friend. It was so much fun and I was pleased to see that some of my efforts in the gym are paying off in terms of strength/endurance. It was at a club called Everybody Fights and was a free event sponsored by FitBit. Afterwards we went and got Poke Bowls (a first for me) and went to the Louis Vuitton Volez, Voguez, Voyagez exhibition. It was actually really interesting, and for those who appreciate well designed storage I would recommend going. They also had several gowns and other fashion items worn by famous celebrities on display.
